  • Support the setup and operation of testing environments, including physical testing grounds, ensuring safe and efficient trials
  • Assist robotics engineers during field trials, proof‐of‐concept demonstrations, and client site visits
  • Manage inventory of robotic hardware, sensors, spare parts, and test equipment
  • Perform pre‐test checks, calibrations, and post‐test diagnostics to ensure system performance
  • Document test configurations, fault logs, maintenance records, and lessons learned
  • Assist with ROS 2 configuration, launch file setup, and data logging during trials
  • Contribute to health and safety assessments, support equipment transport, and help develop repeatable testing procedures

About the Candidate:

  • A degree in robotics, mechatronics, computer science, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Linked or transferable skills, along with consulting experience or a strong interest in consulting, are highly desirable
  • Demonstrable hands‐on experience with robotic systems (university projects, research, internships, or professional work)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions as a core part of the role

  • Basic Linux command‐line competence and familiarity with ROS 2
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for equipment tracking, record keeping, and following procedures
  • Full UK driving licence and professional fluency in English for technical communication
  • Experience with mobile robotic platforms and knowledge of common sensors (LiDAR, IMUs, GNSS, depth cameras) would be beneficial
  • Experience in software development using Python or C++ within a robotics context, along with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or fabrication skills, would be advantageous
  • An interest in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, defence, energy, or facilities management would be advantageous
