Role Overview

As a Cloud Architect, you will design, build, and deliver cloud-native solutions across a growing client portfolio, combining strong technical expertise with client engagement. You will translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable architectures on Google Cloud, operating at the intersection of technical depth and stakeholder collaboration. Working across AI and ML workloads, data platform design, and cloud migrations, you will act as a trusted technical voice for clients and a key partner to delivery teams. You will confidently engage with both engineers and senior stakeholders, from whiteboarding solutions to presenting architectural roadmaps. This role is based in London.

Responsibilities

  • Architect end-to-end Google Cloud solutions across infrastructure, networking, security, and application layers to meet client needs.
  • Define and design infrastructure strategies using IaC, containerisation, and CI/CD for repeatable, production-grade deployments.
  • Design and architect AI/ML and Agentic AI solutions using Google Cloud services such as Vertex AI, Model Garden, and Gemini.
  • Develop Agentic AI systems and intelligent automation workflows.
  • Design data platforms and pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, and serving layers using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
  • Lead technical planning and execution of cloud migration and application modernisation programmes, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecting.
  • Act as a technical authority in client engagements, running discovery workshops, producing architecture artefacts, and presenting recommendations.
  • Identify and address technical risks, ensure compliance with security and performance standards, and contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices.

About the Candidate

  • Minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in a cloud architecture or cloud engineering role, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver solutions on Google Cloud Platform across infrastructure, data, and application domains.
  • Practical experience with AI/ML workloads on Google Cloud, including Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, or Gemini-based tooling.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles, including designing data pipelines and analytical platforms (e.g. BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering cloud migration and modernisation projects, applying appropriate migration strategies.
  • Holds at least one professional-level Google Cloud certification (e.g. Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer, or equivalent).
  • A growth mindset, with a focus on continuously deepening technical expertise and adding value to clients and the business.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts, and maintain commercial awareness of architectural decisions is advantageous.
