Role Overview:
We're looking for a confident and commercially-minded Account Director to lead key client relationships, focusing on live and virtual events, with involvement in internal communications campaigns. You'll oversee a portfolio of accounts and the client services team, driving delivery excellence, team development and growth. This is a pivotal role with real scope – ideal for someone who's passionate about delivering outstanding experiences, loves building lasting relationships, and has a keen eye for opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and expand key client relationships for internal communications and events, ensuring exceptional service delivery
  • Oversee end-to-end project management, ensuring all work aligns with client briefs, timelines, and budgets
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the client services team, maintaining high professional standards
  • Provide strategic consultancy to clients and internal stakeholders to drive impactful solutions
  • Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring account profitability across projects
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities with both existing and prospective clients
  • Develop, write, and present persuasive pitches and proposals to secure new business
  • Collaborate closely with in-house creative, strategy, development, and event production teams to deliver integrated solutions

About the Candidate:

  • Minimum 6 years' experience in internal communications, ideally agency-side
  • Proven track record delivering live and virtual events end-to-end
  • Strong background in client services, with experience in team leadership and mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability to spot and convert new business opportunities
  • Commercial confidence in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Skilled communicator with a balance of creative flair and commercial acumen
  • Comfortable writing proposals, leading pitches, and being on-site at flagship events
  • Professional qualification (e.g. CIM, DMI) and experience across both internal comms and events
