Job Summary: The Quality Control (QC) Technician will perform various laboratory-related activities such as reagent preparation, tissue culture, equipment maintenance, sample receipt and disposal, maintenance of consumable and reagent inventory, ordering reagents and preparing reagents following relevant standard operating procedure (SOP). After adequate experience and training, the role can also involve performing some simple QC testing using established test methods. This position is based in our Milton Park location and typically has a 5-day on-site expectation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the day-to-day operation of the laboratories.
  • Perform maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Perform sample receipt and discard and maintain inventory.
  • Order laboratory reagents and consumables as required.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and maintain various cell lines on a regular basis by revival and passaging at set intervals.
  • Perform data check and verification for documents.
  • Perform general laboratory housekeeping tasks.
  • Maintain reagent and consumable inventories.

Qualifications:

Education: GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics, English and/or a science-based subject.

Required Experience: A good time management skill and the ability to work in an organised manner. Good team player that is willing to adapt quickly. Computer literacy (including MS Word and Excel).
