JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Director of People & Culture – RE P UK

Department: People & Culture

Reports To: CEO REP UK

Location: Unit 6, Indurent Park, Gloucester, GL10 3EX

Contract Type: Full-time, Hybrid Schedule

WHO WE ARE:

REP is one of the world\’s leading strength equipment brands trusted by home gym owners, elite athletes, and commercial facilities worldwide. Founded in 2012 by two brothers, Ryan and Shane McGrotty, with a passion for fitness, we\’ve grown from selling bumper plates out of a small garage to a $170M TTM revenue business with 180+ strength enthusiasts on our team and more than 300,000 sq ft of distribution space across the USA.

REP UK is a shared vision between Shane, Ryan, and our UK CEO, and marks our first major international expansion. From our new HQ, home to the UK\’s largest strength showroom and distribution hubs in Gloucester, UK and Frankfurt, DE, we\’re building a Hub & Spoke Model, with the UK as the hub and decentralized spokes serving DACH, Benelux, France, Iberia, and the Nordics.

Our mission is bold and simple: Strength Brings Freedom. We believe strength training unlocks the freedom to live fully, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Our four operational pillars – Innovation, Value, Customer Service, and Community – guide every decision we make.

OUR CORE VALUES:

Think Like a Customer – We empathize with our customers and understand the \’why\’ behind every decision we make.

Progress not Perfection – We don\’t let perfect get in the way of good; we are better today than we were yesterday.

Positive Attitude – Be a glass half-full kind of person and remember to have fun.

Teamwork without Ego – We put the team above ourselves; we only win together.

Take Initiative – We drive momentum; if there is an opportunity to make us better, we want to hear it.

THE OPPORTUNITY :

This is not just about HR policies – this is about building the culture, talent, and leadership capacity that will take REP UK from startup mode to a $100M+ powerhouse.

As Director of People & Culture for REP UK, you\’ll be responsible for creating an environment where high performance and high engagement go hand in hand. You\’ll own everything from recruitment and onboarding to leadership development, organizational design, and employee experience. This is a hybrid role, requiring to be in office a minimum of 3 days a week.

You\’ll sit on the REP UK Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO, with a mandate to make REP the best place to work in the UK fitness industry.

WHAT YOU\’LL DO :

Culture & Engagement

  • Champion REP UK\’s mission, pillars, and values in every aspect of the employee experience.
  • Design and deliver initiatives that build connection, collaboration, and belonging across a multi-market team.
  • Monitor engagement levels and act to continuously improve culture.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Build and execute a recruitment strategy that attracts top-tier talent across the UK.
  • Develop and own a best-in-class onboarding process that gets new hires up to speed quickly and culturally aligned.

Learning & Development

  • Create and implement leadership development programs for managers and executives.
  • Identify skills gaps and design targeted training to close them.
  • Build career progression frameworks for all functions.

Performance & Reward

  • Own REP UK\’s performance review and goal-setting processes.
  • Ensure compensation and benefits are competitive and aligned with performance.
  • Partner with Finance to design bonus structures that drive results.

People Operations

  • Lead all HR compliance, contracts, and employment law matters across UK markets.
  • Maintain accurate and secure employee records.
  • Manage employee relations with fairness, discretion, and empathy.

Organizational Design

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team on workforce planning and structure.
  • Build scalable people processes to support rapid growth.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING :

  • 10+ years in senior HR or People leadership roles, ideally in high-growth, multi-market businesses.
  • Proven experience building culture and engagement in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Deep knowledge of UK and EU employment law.
  • Strong track record in talent acquisition, leadership development, and organizational design.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to link people strategy to business performance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – able to inspire and influence at all levels.
  • Passion for people, performance, and building a place where the best talent thrives.

YOUR FIRST YEAR AT REP UK :

90 Days

  • Fully immerse in REP UK\’s culture, values, and team structure.
  • Audit current people process , engagement levels, and talent gaps.
  • Deliver a 12-month People & Culture roadmap.

180 Days

  • Launch key initiatives to strengthen culture and engagement.
  • Implement improved recruitment and onboarding processes.

360 Days

  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in engagement, retention, and leadership capability.
  • Have a scalable people infrastructure in place to support future growth.
  • Position REP UK as an employer of choice in the UK fitness industry.

COMPENSATION & PERKS :

  • £60,000 per annum
  • Participation in our global bonus program
  • 25 days annual leave (excluding public holidays)
  • Private healthcare options
  • Weekly team workouts & company-sponsored events
  • Staff discounts on REP equipment and apparel

THE FINAL WORD :

REP UK is a once-in-a-career opportunity. We\’re backed by a $170M US business with world-class products, a loyal customer base, and the capital to grow fast – but in the UK, we\’re still at the starting line.

We\’re building a high-performance sports team that happens to run a business. That means no passengers, no silos, no bureaucracy – just a group of ambitious, driven people who want to make REP the number one strength brand in the world.

If you want to be part of the team that makes that happen – and you have the skill, resilience, and ambition to match – then this is your shot.
