ReOrbit is looking for a Senior Ground Software Engineer to join the ReOrbit team and support the software campaigns for our current satellite product lines UKKO, SILTA and future missions. This role is based in our office in Bristol, UK. It's an exciting chance to join a dynamic start-up, with the opportunity to make a real impact, to reach our goal of pushing the boundaries of space data transfer.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain robust ground software systems for satellite communications, spacecraft database and mission operations.
- Participate in the work of all stages in the software development process.
- Analysis of customer requirements and flow down into the software documentation.
- Deliver technical documents and estimates for proposals and reviews.
- Participate in defining the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and work packages for bids.
- Definition of test/validation procedures.
- Support to reviews at all levels of the design, development and testing.
- Be able to communicate effectively and provide support to Assembly, Integration and Test teams.
Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in complex software tools development.
- Programming Languages: proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g. Java, Python, C++, etc).
- Experience in all stages in the software development process: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, maintenance.
- Teamwork.
- Experience with version control.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, translating complex technical ideas into clear documentation.
- Attention to Detail.
