We\’re working on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing organisation based in Alfreton, to recruit a talented and motivated 1st/2nd Line IT Support Technician to join their internal IT team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in IT support whos looking to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Youll be the first point of contact for users across the business, troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of hardware, software, and network issues, escalating where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to internal users (on-site and remote)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment (PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices)
  • Set up new users, manage accounts, and maintain Active Directory
  • Monitor and manage helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and escalation
  • Document support issues and solutions for knowledge base purposes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a 1st or 2nd line IT support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with Active Directory, networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), and remote support tools
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence (due to potential travel between local sites)
