We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Asbestos – Site Auditor and Trainer to join our DCUK Central Team. The role is field‑based covering the south/south‑east with national travel. Reporting directly to the Compliance Director, you will maintain our HSE licence and ensure absolute health and safety compliance across active project sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough on‑site compliance assessments of active jobs on a regular basis, including high‑profile and secure locations such as Electricity North West (ENW) and National Grid sites.
- Carry out regular peer reviews and quality governance of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to support our HSE licence.
- Deliver UKATA Asbestos training to internal teams, provide Fit2Fit Face Fit tests, and assess/deliver NVQ qualifications.
- Deliver non‑asbestos training modules, including Manual Handling and Abrasive Wheels courses.
- Review on‑site documentation and discuss works with site personnel, building a strong professional rapport with Contract Managers, Supervisors, and clients.
Required Experience & Competencies
- Essential experience in an auditing role within the licensed asbestos industry, with extensive knowledge of working alongside regulators (HSE).
- Proven experience delivering UKATA Asbestos Training and providing consultative advice to internal teams and external customers.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong problem‑solving abilities, strategic thinking, leadership capabilities, and strong IT literacy.
- A full UK driving licence is required for this field‑based role.
- Required to pass a satisfactory DBS check.
Formal Education & Qualifications
- P405 Asbestos Certificate (or equivalent) – Essential
- Fully conversant in relevant health & safety legislation relating to asbestos – Essential
- UKATA Approved Trainer – Preferred
- WAMITAB Level 4 (Oversight of an Asbestos Waste Transfer Station) – Preferred and/or willing to complete NEBOSH Certificate – Preferred
- NVQ Assessor Qualification – Preferred
- Fit2Fit Accreditation – Preferred
- Train the Trainer Qualification – Preferred
