Reporting into the Financial Controller (Urban, Prop Services & DCUK), you will be responsible for 3 direct reports and support and manage the DCUK Finance team with the following responsibilities:
- Management Accounts
- Accurate reporting of Financial and non‑Financial metrics for month‑end reporting in line with Rentokil Initial group guidelines, including journal preparation and approval and revenue recognition.
- Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed, all reconciling items investigated and understood.
- Completion of management presentations to explain month‑end performance and attendance of monthly business review with Senior Exec.
- Ensuring delivery of all key reports including P&Ls, transactional reports, balance sheet reconciliations.
- Short Range Financial Planning – monthly forecast process.
- Long Range Financial Planning – complete annual budgeting process for DCUK, ensuring a bottom up process is performed and group reporting deadlines are met.
- Financial Accounts
- Manage & ensure a clean external audit each year with our audit partners.
- Prepare the annual statutory accounts for the two DCUK entities.
- Work with the RI Group co sec team and group financial accounts team to ensure all statutory deadlines are met.
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns within HMRC timeframe rules.
- Ensure that VAT accounts are correct and reconciled.
- Credit Control Management
- Lead & manage the DCUK credit control team.
- Accurate reporting of DSO and other credit control metrics.
- Control Environment
- Ensure necessary controls are in place to guarantee accurate reporting of performance of the business.
- Assist in the management of the headcount reporting of the business to ensure we are able to accurately allocate and report all headcount and headcount related costs (e.g. Vans, Phones, fuel cards).
- Use this to accurately report the cost base of the company.
- Work proactively to close any control issues they may raise.
- Investigate and propose solutions to any control issues that arise during the year.
- Investigate all drivers of business performance and ensure we understand exactly how results are generated.
- Drive efficiency and accuracy through the team. Eradicate waste and drive standardisation of analysis and processes.
- Pricing
- Own and update costing sheet used for new business / tenders.
- Review costing sheets submitted for review by operations.
- Ensure accurate margin reporting of project costings.
- Payroll
- Review and oversee the weekly payroll of DCUK.
- Management and tracking of all variable pay elements for DCUK (including private mileage).
- Analysis & Ad‑Hoc
- Management & development of the DCUK finance team.
- Provide detailed support to Operating Areas to help them understand their performance.
- Support Financial Controller & other Senior Exec on projects & other ad‑hoc assignments as they arise.
- Support Operations Director (DCUK) on data and decision making.
Requirements
To be considered for the Finance Manager (DCUK) position, you will ideally have the following:
- Recent finance management experience.
- Strong excel skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Drive and motivation.
- Fully qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA accreditation.
- Navision/Business Central experience (Desirable).
