We are looking for a creative and data-driven Social Media Executive to join our Group Socials team. Reporting to the Digital Content Marketing Manager, you will take day-to-day ownership of planning, creating and executing social media activity across our global group channels (with a particular focus on LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube). You will help bring our company story to life, showcasing colleagues, customers, innovation and sustainability, while maintaining a strong, consistent brand presence across markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Content planning and creation
    • Create high-quality, on-brand graphics, images and short-form videos using Canva or similar tools, following established templates and guidelines.
    • Draft compelling copy for social posts that reflect our group tone of voice and support key campaigns (e.g. ESG, innovation, employer brand, leadership).
    • Adapt and repurpose content from press releases, case studies, blogs and internal stories into social-first formats (e.g. carousels, short video, quote tiles).
    • Content planning for key corporate moments, campaigns and leadership announcements.
    • Impact in this area will be measured by higher-quality engagement (not just increased volume), fewer content reworks due to on-brief, publish-ready assets, and stronger reuse of Group content, templates and series formats by markets.
  • Channel management and community
    • Schedule, publish and quality-check posts across group LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and any additional agreed platforms.
    • Monitor comments, messages and mentions, flagging potential issues and responding where appropriate in line with agreed guidelines.
    • Maintain content calendars, ensuring posts are delivered on time and aligned with campaign timelines and key dates.
    • Carry out social listening and competitor reviews to identify new opportunities and best practice, bringing forward clear suggestions on formats, series or topics we should test.
  • Collaboration and campaigns
    • Work closely with M&I, Corporate Communications, HR, Sustainability and regional marketing teams to source stories and content.
    • Own the day-to-day creative and messaging requirements for paid campaigns on group channels, working with the team to ensure assets and copy are on-brief and ready for activation.
    • Play an active role in maintaining and evolving group social media guidelines and best-practice playbooks, ensuring consistency across markets and encouraging markets to reuse and adapt Group content where appropriate.
    • Adhere to the approvals process for key posts and campaigns, managing drafts, feedback and version control.
  • Performance and reporting
    • Track performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement, clicks, followers, video views) using native platform analytics and established dashboards, with a focus on improving the quality and relevance of engagement over time.
    • Prepare summaries for internal stakeholders, highlighting strong-performing content, formats and series, flagging opportunities to reuse Group content across markets and reducing rework by providing clear guidance on what “good” looks like.
    • Plan and run simple A/B-style tests where possible (e.g. alternative copy, thumbnails, formats) and share learnings with the team and wider markets to drive stronger reuse of proven Group content and approaches.
    • Use tools such as Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insights and social/CRM platforms such as Sprinklr or HubSpot to inform recommendations, linking channel performance back to our reputation and business objectives wherever possible.
  • Governance and brand consistency
    • Ensure all posts and assets follow Rentokil Initial and local brand guidelines, tone of voice and legal/compliance requirements.
    • Contribute to the implementation of social media best practice and playbooks, actively championing their use across Group channels.
    • Maintain clear documentation (calendars, asset libraries, naming conventions) so content is easy for markets to discover, reuse and adapt.

Requirements:

Skills and experience

  • Essential
    • 1–2+ years’ experience in social media, content or digital marketing roles.
    • Demonstrable experience creating social content (copy and assets) for LinkedIn, Instagram and/or YouTube.
    • Proficiency in Canva /Adobe CC (or similar) to create polished, on-brand social graphics.
    • Strong writing skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging posts.
    • Comfortable using native social analytics and basic reporting tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint/Slides).
    • Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Desirable
    • Experience in B2B and/or corporate communications, employer branding or thought leadership content.
    • Familiarity with enterprise social platforms such as Sprinklr / HubSpot.
    • Interest in experimentation and data-driven optimisation (e.g. testing formats, hooks and creative approaches).

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Hybrid working
  • Rentokil Initial Reward Scheme
  • 23 days holiday, plus 8 bank holidays
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Death in service benefit
  • Healthcare
  • Free parking
