  • Purpose of the Role

Provide support to the Senior Treasury Accountant all aspects of accounting for RI 1927 plc and other Group companies accounted for in Treasury Back Office; and for the preparation of information for inclusion in the Treasury Committee pack prepared by the FP&A team.

Provide Back Office support to the Treasury Front Office teams ensuring that all treasury transactions are reviewed and approved in a timely manner and in line with policy.

The team is also responsible for administration of Group banking portals and treasury systems.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting
  • Prepare and submit RI 1927 plc and RI 1896 MMAs and reporting into Cognos each month
  • Budgeting and forecasting for RI 1927 plc and RI 1896 income and expenditure
  • Ensure that RI 1927 plc and RI 1896 transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system (Business Central), the treasury management system (Kyriba) and the reporting system (Cognos)
  • Ensure all intercompany loan transactions for RI 1927 and RI 1896 in the TMS are reconciled to the accounting system (Business Central)
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal controls
  • Record monthly mark to market valuations of derivatives in RI 1927 plc
  • Prepare the statutory reports for RI 1927 and RI 1896 at half year and year end
  • Prepare slides for the monthly Treasury Committee pack for review by the Treasury Controller
  • Assist with the preparation of notes in the Annual Report and Interim Statements
  • Dealing with audit queries
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliations and completion of evidence of accounting controls, including bank reconciliations for all RI 1927 and RI 1896 bank accounts
  • Monitor that treasury trades are submitted to the trade repository
  • Ad hoc projects as directed by the Treasury Controller
  • Other Reporting
  • Review of pool interest in the BMG pool
  • Submission of quarterly ONS surveys
  • Monitor compliance with treasury policy
  • Prepare the semi-annual WACC calculations
  • Prepare Central FX Tracker from Group entities (if needed)
  • Ensure process notes are in place, up-to-date and easily located on the Google drive
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as required on an ad hoc basis
  • System Administration and Payment Authorisation
  • Review and approve static data and treasury transactions in the TMS
  • Kyriba and other treasury payment approvals
  • Provide back-up for the Treasury Accounting Assistant on payments during periods of absence

Requirements

  • More than 2 years of treasury, accounting and cash management experience
  • Experience in financial reporting and application of GAAP and IFRS
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of accounting and finance technology tools (e. g. Excel; Treasury Management and ERP systems)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Works independently to implement process improvements, strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency.
  • Resourceful to assess, analyze and implement solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with leaders and acts as a partner on all financial related decisions.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.

Qualifications

  • Newly qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified with relevant accounting experience
  • AMCT qualification preferred but not essential
