IT ServiceNow Junior Developer

We are looking for a Junior Part-Time ServiceNow Developer to contribute to the ongoing development, configuration, and maintenance of our enterprise ServiceNow platform. If you have 1-3 years of hands-on experience developing within the platform and are seeking a flexible, part-time role, this is an excellent opportunity to expand your technical skills across various modules and complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Development & Scripting:

• Write, test, and deploy client-side scripts (Client Scripts, UI Policies) and server-side scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions) using JavaScript/Glide
• Build and maintain Service Catalog items, including complex variable configurations and advanced workflows
• Utilise low-code tools like Flow Designer to automate and streamline business processes

Configuration & Customisation:

• Design and enhance user interfaces, including maintaining and developing custom widgets for the Service Portal using HTML, CSS, and Angular

Maintenance & Quality Assurance:

• Manage Update Sets for migrating configurations and code between development, test, and production environments
• Participate in testing activities, including developing and executing test plans for new features and platform upgrades
• Perform routine platform administration tasks, including user management, data imports, and security rule (ACL) configuration

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the ServiceNow Product Owner and Engineering lead to refine requirements and propose technical solutions that align with best practices

Requirements
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development

ServiceNow Core Skills: Proven ability to configure and customize ServiceNow using out-of-the-box functionality and platform scripting.

Technical Proficiency: Solid foundational knowledge of:

• JavaScript/Glide scripting
• HTML, CSS, and basic AngularJS (or similar framework) exposure for Service Portal development
• Understanding of relational databases and data modeling within ServiceNow

Certifications (Highly Preferred): Active ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

Process Knowledge: Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and ITIL concepts.
