The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

Rentokil Initial has an IT strategy of utilising a mix of bespoke and off the shelf applications across the Prospect to Cash business processes. The Group Information Systems (GIS) function is developing an exciting new generation suite of Enterprise solutions utilising Google Cloud Platform.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills across the software development life cycle. Has deep practical understanding of the activities of the Rentokil Initial and is able to demonstrate the importance of high quality and efficient software delivery. Able to coordinate complex deliverables across multiple teams, including overlap and dependencies.

Main Purpose of the Role

  • In discussion and agreement with the team, implement the agreed delivery approach and take responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered successfully
  • To set the agile product team up for success, supporting them in problem solving and enabling them to come up with their own insights and products within constraints
  • Evolve and codify our delivery practices, learning and iterating frequently, and coaching others to do so – and document findings, tools and approaches
  • Manage the delivery of digital products alongside the product teams with a deep understanding of how these solutions add value
  • Will be expected to act autonomously ensuring that daily tasks and on-going workloads are prioritised and completed in agreed time frames. Excellent interpersonal skills will support this
  • Support the management and implementation of the agreed target service management systems in line with the agreed regional business priorities
  • Aiding the formation and running of high performing product teams where people are excited about the work they are undertaking
  • Planning, facilitating and implementing service management solutions, agreed with the regional businesses, ensuring that project reporting and work stream structures are in place and effective reporting, escalation and remediation at all times
  • Handle and manage highly complex and sensitive information about staff, business processes, commercial plans, strategic objectives and barriers to change
  • Working with the regional business team to ensure there is a business understanding of how the solutions and tools will be delivered to the business (This will include the planning around key business periods / cycles)
  • Prepares for and participates in the PI- planning event and supports the Product Owner and other POs in aligning the delivery of product releases
  • Supports the team in estimating features (Points per Sprint vs Capacity) and aligning sprint priorities with agreed PI plans
  • Promotes quality and ensures that the product teams follow the RI standard, policies and guidelines in delivering their work
  • Ensures the team\’s compliance to RI business processes and policies, especially the development process and the life cycle management process
  • Release Management

Requirements

  • Working alongside the Product Owner both to help the team improve its own throughput and to communicate with others about how the team is delivering
  • An experienced Agile delivery practitioner, with expertise in delivering digital projects, breaking down barriers for your team, developing strong relationships and getting into the detail to make things happen.
  • Spot warning signs of things going wrong and provide recommendations to alleviate significant delivery challenges
  • Working with the Product Owner to ensure our delivery of solutions is robust, risk managed and commercially strong
  • Leads internal engineering team to ensure timely delivery of product strategic objectives, helping overcome any risk or obstacles to successful delivery.
  • Liaises with third-party software suppliers where necessary ensuring quality delivery of product objectives.
  • Lead the team to accurately scope, estimate and define effort for complex projects
  • Initiates action, by systems development staff or software suppliers, on the development of system enhancements in line with PI objectives
  • Manages new releases of applications software from systems development staff or software suppliers
  • Refers to domain experts for guidance on specialised areas of risk, such as compliance, architecture, finance and environment
  • Allocates responsibilities and assigns packages of work to groups of staff. Ensures that work packages are aligned with the particular skills and abilities of teams. Supports teams in the delivery of work packages.
  • Understands company\’s own strategy and planning processes. Defines product team\’s planning and release process in accordance with GIS strategy
  • Builds robust high-level plans for successful product launch. Ensures optimum use of resources to gain the required impact
  • Works within a defined organisation governance framework, which may be under the oversight and/or direction of a project/programme management office
  • Ensures team adheres to change management processes
  • Examines evidence, and evaluates the quality of project outputs against the agreed service acceptance criteria, to ensure that the service is ready to go live and everything is ready to support this service

Experience

  • Understands the principles of business and markets and has experience of relevant business sectors.
  • Has proven project management and leadership skills, and can demonstrate knowledge of specific project management methodology
  • Has a thorough knowledge of how to make and sustain a business case (the benefits that will be delivered, the investment cost and the risks involved).
  • Demonstrates up to date knowledge of the organisation\’s business environment, culture, policy framework, organisational relationships, business processes, and reporting procedures.
  • Displays good inter-personal skills at all levels of contact and in a wide variety of situations, demonstrates the ability to listen and influence, and to relate to customers in their own language.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and good stakeholder management practices
  • Demonstrates sound practical knowledge of associated technical disciplines e.g. process re-design, systems development and service delivery.
  • Uses a high level of technical understanding to interpret technical issues for the business and sustain credibility with IT
  • Educated to bachelor degree level and holds a relevant professional qualification

  • Familiar with SCRUM- as applied within Rentokil-Initial
  • Agile and Lean methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe) Impediment management
  • SCRUM style Facilitation
