The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 Β£ per year.
This role is responsible for the provision of high quality support, information, and analysis on all aspects of finance to the Group Marketing & Innovation function.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with various LT teams across the Group to ensure that costs are being captured correctly and in accordance with relevant accounting standards/SOX controls
- Lead finance/budget reviews with the department Leadership Team
- Lead the monthly forecasting process, including identifying risks and opportunities, and variance analysis/commentary
- Manage the month-end process, including monthly accruals/prepayments and journals in line with the relevant accounting policies and procedures
- Line management of an Assistant Management Accountant
- Ensure compliance with necessary accounting standards and SOX controls
- Assist in the annual budget preparation process
- Provide relevant, meaningful, and insightful financial information/analysis to assist departmental managers in their decision-making process
- Ensure integrity of financial reporting
Main tasks
- Ensuring SOX processes are followed and documented
- Hold regular budget reviews with the M&I LT to manage the forecast, risks & opportunities
- Complete month end processes by the relevant deadlines including general journals, recurring journals, recharges, and monthly forecast by COB WD5
- Line Management and development of Assistant Management Accountant
- Produce monthly reporting packs for M&I cost centre managers and CCO
- Produce quarterly slide deck and associated summaries for the M&I quarterly business review
- Work closely with PMO, the capex accountant and the wider finance team to ensure recharges and capitalisation of costs are completed accurately and correctly
Requirements
- ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified Accountant
- Business Partner experience within a commercial organisation
- Proven experience in management accounting within a large corporation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
