Reports to: Financial Controller (Urban, Prop Services & DCUK).
Responsibilities
- Management Accounts
- Accurate reporting of financial and non‑financial metrics for month‑end reporting in line with group guidelines, including journal preparation, approvals and revenue recognition.
- Ensure all balance‑sheet reconciliations are completed and reconciling items are investigated.
- Complete management presentations to explain month‑end performance and attend monthly business reviews with senior executive.
- Deliver all key reports, including P&L, transactional reports and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee short‑range financial planning – monthly forecast process.
- Complete long‑range financial planning – annual budgeting, ensuring a bottom‑up process and meeting group reporting deadlines.
- Financial Accounts
- Manage and ensure a clean external audit each year with audit partners.
- Prepare the annual statutory accounts for the two DCUK entities.
- Work with the RI Group co‑sec team and group financial accounts team to meet statutory deadlines.
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns within HMRC timeframe rules.
- Ensure VAT accounts are correct and reconciled.
- Credit Control Management
- Lead and manage the DCUK credit control team.
- Accurate reporting of DSO and other credit control metrics.
- Implement necessary controls to guarantee accurate reporting of business performance.
- Assist in headcount reporting to accurately allocate and report all headcount and related costs (e.g., vans, phones, fuel cards).
- Work proactively to close any control issues and propose solutions when problems arise.
- Investigate all drivers of business performance to understand results generation.
- Drive efficiency and accuracy through the team, standardising analysis and processes.
- Pricing
- Own and update costing sheet used for new business/tenders.
- Review costing sheets submitted for review by operations.
- Ensure accurate margin reporting of project costings.
- Payroll
- Review and oversee the weekly payroll of DCUK.
- Manage and track all variable pay elements for DCUK (including private mileage).
- Analysis & Ad‑Hoc
- Management and development of the DCUK finance team.
- Provide detailed support to operating areas to help them understand performance.
- Support the Financial Controller and senior executive on projects and ad‑hoc assignments.
- Assist the Operations Director (DCUK) on data and decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Recent finance management experience.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Drive and motivation.
- Fully qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA accreditation.
- Navision/Business Central experience (desirable).
