Our client is a leading SaaS company specialising in business services software solutions. Established in the early 2000s, the company has built a strong reputation for its technology, ensuring seamless provision of compliance requirements.

Following its acquisition by private equity in the last 5 years, the company is positioned for continued expansion, leveraging its technology expertise and strong market presence to further scale its product offerings and enhance customer engagement.

Over the years, the company has established strong market share and consistent growth, largely through inbound marketing efforts. As part of its strategic evolution, the company is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to elevate the marketing function and drive its next phase of development. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced marketing leader to join a top-tier software company.

The CMO will be responsible for defining the company’s marketing strategy, working closely with the Chief Sales Officer on go-to-market (GTM) initiatives, and collaborating with the Chief Product Officer to drive adoption of new products. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and operational, with a proven playbook for scaling marketing functions. The current marketing team consists of 10+ members, and the CMO will be responsible for evaluating talent and addressing skill gaps.

Key priorities for this role include:

  • Expanding the company’s presence among mid-sized and enterprise businesses, growing the customer base through existing channel partnerships and onboarding new clients.
  • Strengthening alignment between marketing and sales, ensuring a cohesive GTM strategy across both indirect and direct sales channels.
  • Partnering with the product team to support the rollout of new features, increasing customer adoption and maximising revenue potential.
  • Establishing a data-driven marketing function with clear performance metrics, optimising lead generation, pipeline growth, and return on marketing investment.
  • Enhancing the company’s brand presence in both domestic and international markets, leveraging public relations, industry events, and strategic partnerships.

Experience & Skills

  • Extensive leadership experience across the full marketing function within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Proven track record in high-growth, fast-paced organisations, ideally with experience scaling businesses with at least €50m ARR.
  • Experience at an executive leadership level, or regional executive experience within a larger multinational.
  • Strong ability to build, structure, and scale marketing functions, establishing robust processes and best practices.
  • Experience managing diverse marketing teams, including in-house staff, agencies, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in marketing operations, data analytics, and performance measurement to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Familiarity with marketing technologies, including CRM systems, automation tools, analytics platforms, and customer data solutions.
  • A history of recruiting, developing, and leading high-performing teams with an inspiring leadership style.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate vision and strategy effectively.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to balance high-level planning with hands-on execution.

This role presents an exciting challenge for a marketing leader looking to make a significant impact in a fast-growing SaaS company. The right candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of marketing within a highly dynamic and ambitious organisation.
