At Rennie Grove Peace, our unique care provides a lifeline of compassion and support to patients, carers, and families facing life-limiting illness in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Following a merger of Rennie Grove Hospice Care and Peace Hospice Care in October 2022, the Charity is now one of the larger hospice charities reaching an incredible 800,000 people through our services with a team of over 340 employees and over 1600 volunteers. Our goal is to serve 7,500 patients a year.
The driving force behind the merger is our goal to increase both the reach and scope of services. This includes high-quality care for those facing life-limiting illness, as well as bereavement counselling services for anyone affected by grief. By teaming up, we have extended and improved our range of services, giving more people access to support and the very best care.
The Director of Finance will lead on all aspects of our approach to financial strategy and operational management, development of our new approach to financial sustainability and future opportunities and monitor, analyse and report our performance across Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care. The new Director of Finance will also be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of our culture by embracing our vision, role‑modeling our values and driving positive colleague engagement.
The Candidate
- Member of one of the professional accountancy bodies - Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants
- Demonstrable substantial financial experience and a track record of success in an environment of change
- Ability to influence effectively in a team environment with fellow Executives, the Chief Executive and Trustees
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong problem‑solving skills and able to implement new initiatives
- A perfect match with the Charity’s values and culture.
