Product Lifecycle Engineer – Optical Encoder Technology

Key Responsibilities
- Work with Product Marketing, engineering teams, subsidiaries, and customers to understand technical requirements and support migration from obsolete products to suitable alternatives within the portfolio.
- Develop supporting materials and help define upgrade paths.
- Analyse sales data to support decisions on obsolete components.
- Create presentations to support lifecycle strategy and communicate it clearly to subsidiaries and internal stakeholders.
- Manage specific obsolescence programmes
- Liaise with forecasting to develop end of life forecast
- Build relationships with subsidiaries to gather information and support obsolescence
Key requirements
- HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering / STEM discipline
- Knowledge and experience of coordinating product obsolescence programmes
- Ability to make educated assumptions and forecasting decisions
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Understand MRP/ERP manufacturing processes
Desirable
- Understanding of metrology and optical measurement technology
- Experience with Renishaw products
- Problem solving experience
- Experience with working with remote team members
- Understanding of encoder production processes
