Renishaw’s Encoder Products Division (EPD) designs and supplies cutting‑edge position feedback technology to the world’s precision measurement, automation, and manufacturing industries, it is made up of engineers, scientists and technicians all working together to produce market leading products for sale around the world.

Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing and assembly processes and software to deliver quality products by the hundreds of thousands that in turn, perform reliably and repeatedly to sub‑micro accuracies for our customers.

EPD is looking for a Project Manager to support the Current Products and Specials team. This role could be suitable for a recent graduate or for someone looking to make a step up from a related role. The successful candidate will support product improvement and specials product development and support others by planning, progress chasing and managing documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support EPD with Project Management tasks in the Current Products team
  • Manage and schedule change
  • Coordinate resources
  • Agree objectives, create and manage plans
  • Create and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Communicate across affected divisions and teams
  • Agree customer requirements for special products
  • Manage special products manufacture and delivery
  • Coordinating and facilitating design changes through the corporate change process, creating and managing product change notices and product change plans
  • Managing the impact of design changes by identifying all parts, assemblies and stakeholders that are affected and communicating appropriately
  • Ensuring data in technical and commercial databases is current and accurate
  • Ensuring compliance with Renishaw and legal standards
  • Liaising with other teams in support of Current Products activities

Key requirements

  • A Degree or HND in an engineering or scientific discipline. Or the ability to demonstrate comparable applied knowledge and expertise
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to “get on with people” and to work as part of a team
  • Good technical awareness and understanding of design functions and engineering change processes
  • Good computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft O365 applications
  • An awareness of MRP/ERP and experience of design change control processes
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Excellent planning skills. Completes tasks on time and can effectively prioritise work
  • A willingness to adapt and create new processes to maximise efficiency of work
  • Understanding of metrology and optical measurement technology.
  • Problem solving experience
  • Experience with working with remote team members
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Syteline CCAR system
  • Understanding of encoder production processes
  • Understanding of technical drawings

They will be pro‑active, a completer, highly organised and flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the day‑to‑day project environment.
