A senior electronics design engineer is required to join the CGPD electronics group. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplined team developing ground-breaking new metrology solutions. An in-depth knowledge of electronics is an essential requirement along with a background of successfully designed products and knowledge of current electronic devices and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Develop the electronics for new products, working to define product specifications and deliver designs to meet those specifications.
- Take ownership of the delivery of electronic designs that meet targets for product performance, quality, cost and timescale and which are suitable for transfer to production, considering design for assembly and test.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and allocate time appropriately to meet delivery deadlines.
- Work closely with others in a multi-disciplinary team, for example with software and mechanical design engineers and with production and purchasing teams.
Key requirements
- Educated to at least degree level in electronics, or equivalent.
- Expertise in analogue and digital electronics design, including designing for electromagnetic compatibility.
- Experience of writing VHDL/SystemVerilog for FPGAs.
Desirable requirements
- Familiarity with embedded microprocessors and embedded C.
- EMC testing experience.
- Practical electronic circuit prototyping skills.
- Experience in relevant schematic capture, PCB layout and circuit simulation tools.
