The Field Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales performance across the Industrial Metrology product lines by leading, coaching, and supporting Area Sales Managers (ASMs). The role focuses on the qualification and progression of capital engineering projects, strengthening pipeline health, and standardising sales practices to deliver sales targets. This position reports directly to the Renishaw UK Sales General Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Coaching: Act as the primary support for Area Sales Managers, improving sales capability, efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency. Coach ASMs on opportunity qualification, value selling, and progression of complex engineering capital projects. Support ASMs directly in proposal development and deal closing activities. Conduct structured peer reviews of strategic opportunities to maximise conversion rates.
- Opportunity & Pipeline Management: Support the qualification of capital projects to ensure strong technical and commercial accuracy and strategic alignment. Drive opportunity progression from early-stage development through to order placement. Perform regular pipeline health reviews, identifying risks, gaps, and corrective actions where required. Ensure pipeline coverage and sales activity supports delivery of unit sales targets. Protect and prioritise application engineering and technical resources across opportunities. Ensure resources are focused on well qualified, value-adding opportunities that support business objectives.
- Sales Process & Standardisation: Align and standardise sales working practices and procedures across the field sales organisation. Ensure consistent use of D365 Customer Engagement CRM platform.

- Pipeline health, coverage, and conversion rates
- Forecast accuracy
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in field sales within an engineering or industrial capital equipment environment.
- Strong understanding of complex, solution-based and capital project sales.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical and customer requirements.
