Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
We are currently recruiting for a number of CNC machinists within Low Volume Manufacturing working a 3 shift pattern (6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am). The purpose of the role is to provide additional programming, setting and operating resource to support the increased production demand of specials and low volume production parts.
Responsibilities:
- Setting / Operating CNC machines (Milling or Turning) to the standard set and run times
- Interpret drawings and use initiative in deciding tooling selection and the method of manufacture
- Monitor the quality of components using a wide range of equipment including CMM inspection and complete departmental quality documentation
- Generate new component part programmes with the aid of Gibbs CAM programming software and subsequent prove out of new processes
Key requirements:
- Applicants must have served an apprenticeship and have expertise in using a variety of CNC machine tools, including milling or turning
- A sound knowledge of manufacturing methodology to ensure that new processes are both capable and efficient.
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
- Good PC skills are essential
Desirable requirements:
- A comprehensive knowledge of CNC machining with some programming knowledge is desirable.
- Experience using a variety of inspection methods including CMMs
- Expertise in the use of GibbsCam software would be desirable although full training will be provided for successful applicants
