Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Design teams to understand critical features, performance requirements and DFM opportunities.
- Engage with external suppliers to develop new components, processes and services, and to manage containment and corrective actions for quality concerns.

- Support Goods-In Inspection to ensure effective incoming quality control.
- Conduct supplier visits and assessments, producing clear records and follow-up actions.
- Generate high-quality reports, inspection summaries and root-cause investigations.
- Lead or support project-managed item development activities.

- Take ownership of departmental metrics, targets and defined strategic projects.
- Continuously develop your technical skills, product knowledge and supplier-engagement capability.
- Share learnings across functions to improve cross-team understanding of supplier and process constraints.
Key requirements:
- Qualifications or experience in an engineering or manufacturing discipline (role level and salary scaled accordingly).
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, inspection methods and GD&T.
- Awareness of quality systems such as ISO9001.
- Professionalism, tact and diplomacy when working with internal and external stakeholders.
- A driven, self-motivated mindset with the ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a structured, logical approach to varied technical challenges.
Other requirements:
- Willingness to travel to suppliers in the UK and overseas as required.
- Ability to represent the business professionally in supplier environments.
- Flexibility to undertake initial functional training at multiple MSD sites.
Development and progression:
Delivery-based performance assessments can support progression within the role structure, with potential pathways into senior technical or team-leading positions.
