Renishaw's Machine Tool Products leads the market in delivering innovative, high accuracy measurement solutions to CNC machining processes around the world. Our patented touch trigger probe technology was first employed to measure intricate components for Concorde engines; today our products are the benchmark in high precision engineering for manufacturing hundreds of everyday items like mobile phones and laptops through to car and aircraft parts.
We are currently recruiting for a senior electronics design engineer to assist with maintaining and developing our established Machine Tool Current Product line. An in-depth knowledge of electronics is an essential requirement along with an understanding of the demands of a current product environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the electronics for current products, through continuous improvement upgrades and/or obsolescence.
- Be reactive and responsive to production and customer issues.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and allocate time appropriately to meet delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and subsidiaries to propose and validate electronics hardware changes to improve reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Maintain product compliance with EMC, safety, and environmental standards.
- Liaise with vendors to resolve component issues and qualify replacements.
- Produce clear technical reports, test procedures, and change records.
Key requirements:
- Educated to at least degree level in electronics, or HNC/HND with 5 years relevant work experience.
- Expertise in analogue and digital electronics design, including designing for electromagnetic compatibility.
Desirable requirements:
- EMC testing experience.
- Practical electronic circuit prototyping skills.
- Experience in CR8000.
- Experience in Syteline.
