The predicted salary is between 46000 - 52000 £ per year.
This is a key leadership role within Adult Services, responsible for the operational and strategic management of our integrated Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service. You will provide professional leadership for statutory social work within the service, including chairing Adult Support and Protection Case Conferences. You will lead a large multi-disciplinary team and ensure high standards of practice, governance, and service delivery.
The role includes responsibility for service planning, clinical and care governance, workforce development, performance management, partnership working, and effective use of resources across Renfrewshire Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde systems.
It is essential that you have proven experience of leading and managing a complex service or team in line with professional standards and codes of practice and experience of senior leadership within a professional Social Work/Social Care environment. You must have a proven record of effective partnership working and delivering outcomes with other public sector organisations and experience in contributing to successful service projects and improvements as well as experience of effective budget management and accountability for service delivery.
It is essential that you have knowledge of government policies and national objectives relating to Social Work and an understanding of professional social work practice and major issues facing the social work profession. You will also have a clear understanding and knowledge of the needs of people with complex alcohol and/or drug issues, carers, and families and be able to demonstrate experience in delivering a quality recovery-focused service as well as a comprehensive understanding of Adult services in a local authority setting.
You must have working knowledge of legislation and best practice as it impacts on social work practice and decision-making skills with the ability to make decisions and recommendations based on the analysis of options, as well as analytical skills to allow the exploration, evaluation, and interpretation of complex situations and effective written and communication skills including the ability to produce reports on complex issues.
It is essential that you have a Degree level qualification, Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work (DipSw) or equivalent and evidence of continuing, relevant, professional development. This post requires you to have Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration.
This is an important opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to high quality, recovery-focused alcohol and drug services in Renfrewshire. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
