Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership Care at Home Services provide care and support to vulnerable people living at home, within the community, which includes four extra care housing developments across the authority. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, flexible and highly motivated individual to join our extra care team.

Working Hours

Extra care housing service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Hours of work are 25 hours per week during core business times between 06:30-22:30hrs on a 4 days on/4 days off rota system. The post may require you to work across the service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist service users with all aspects of personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, medication, etc.
  • Help with preparing breakfast and other meals when necessary.
  • Assist service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and improve independence.
  • Undertake all relevant training for the post.
  • Monitor and report changes in the identified needs of service users and handle sensitive information.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience of working in a care setting and delivering intimate personal care or in an informal or personal capacity.
  • Aware of a range of long term conditions and understanding the needs of people who require help from care services.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude and ability to deal with unexpected events or emergency situations.
  • Hold or have capacity to achieve an SVQ Level 2 in Care or an equivalent qualification at level 5 (SCQF) or above.
  • Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of start date.

Additional Information

This post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 18 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is earlier. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
