Renfrewshire Council – proud recipient of Council of the Year – is seeking to recruit a Task Leader as part of the newly created Business Support Team which assists the Planning and Building Standards Service.

Ideally educated to SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent, you will undertake a range of administrative tasks in support of the delivery of a comprehensive, customer focused, business support service across the Planning and Building Standards Service.

Key tasks which you will be responsible for include:

  • Supervision of staff
  • Meeting and greeting visitors
  • Dealing with customer enquiries online and by telephone in line with our adopted Service Standard
  • A range of administrative tasks including the preparation of correspondence, reports and minute taking as required
  • Data quality checking/quality assurance
  • Maintaining a range of manual and computer based recording systems ensuring that all records for which the post holder is responsible are accurate, up to date and stored in line with Council Policy

It is essential that you have experience of:

  • Customer service
  • Carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks
  • Working with standard computer systems including Microsoft Office packages i.e. Excel and Word

It is also essential that you have the ability to:

  • Work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Multitask
  • Have organisational and communication skills

It is desirable that you have experience of supervising staff and developing processes and procedures, as well as a knowledge of the Planning and Building Standards Service and Renfrewshire Council’s Corporate Policies and practices.
