The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

We are looking for a well organised person with drive and commitment to provide a support service for statutory meetings, within a changing environment. You will be part of a statutory support team that will have responsibility for minute taking provision and the completion of all post meeting tasks.

Main duties of the post include:

  • attending meetings such as child/adult protection case conferences, looked after children reviews, civil contingency meetings etc;
  • providing an accurate minute of meetings within agreed timescales;
  • carrying out word processing to produce documents to a high standard;
  • co-ordination of supporting documents;
  • data quality checking;
  • dealing with customer enquiries by telephone, mail, email and in person;
  • supervising the work of the Statutory Support Assistants;
  • managing your own workload by organising and prioritising tasks and updating information systems such as SWIFT, info@work and other databases/spreadsheets as required.

It is essential that you have experience of:

  • working within a clerical role;
  • working in a multi agency setting;
  • providing a high level of service to partners/members of the public;
  • working with common IT packages including Microsoft Office and understanding and following processes/instructions accurately.

Other essential skills include:

  • minute taking skills (i.e. able to transcribe comprehensively to a high standard with minimal rework);
  • word processing skills and the ability to support a variety of council officers across different locations;
  • to understand and follow processes and instructions from different sources;
  • to evaluate the significance and urgency of information received and take the appropriate action;
  • a responsible approach to sensitive information.

A SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent) is desirable, as well as experience of working within a Social Work Environment e.g. children’s services and using SWIFT/ info@work/ EDMS or equivalent.

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain Business Support’s commitment to continuous improvement.
