Following internal promotion, we have a vacancy within our long-established Pathways Project. The Pathways Project works exclusively with people who are convicted of sexual offences to protect the public and reduce sexual recidivism. Pathways has three core functions:

\\n

\\n

\\n

    \\n
  1. Offence-Focused Work: Pathways deliver offence-focused interventions, both programmatic and bespoke depending on individual need, responsivity issues and circumstance. We piloted the revised national programme Moving Forward 2 Change (MF2C) and have now fully transitioned to the delivery of this. For Women and young people involved in harmful sexual behaviour we link with our respective specialist services for assessment and intervention.
  2. \\n

\\n

\\n

\\n

    \\n
  1. Court Reports: Pathways complete JSWRs for all sexual offences in Renfrewshire. When completing JSWRs, Pathways assess suitability for MF2C and complete risk assessments, namely Stable 2007, Risk Matrix 2000, and LS/CMI (screening). If sentenced to custody (six months or more), the case remains with Pathways.
  2. \\n

\\n

\\n

\\n

    \\n
  1. Throughcare and Risk Management: In accordance with legislation and National Standards, Pathways are responsible for the provision of statutory throughcare for prison leavers subject to Section 15 Licence, Extended Sentence, Parole/Non-Parole Licence, Life Licence, and Orders of Lifelong Restriction (OLRs). Pathways are the lead agency for multi-agency risk management, overseen by Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA). In accordance with MAPPA, Pathways work closely with Police Scotland colleagues to share information, complete risk assessments, and undertake joint home visits. Voluntary throughcare is also offered by Pathways.
  2. \\n

\\n

\\n

\\n

In order to fulfil these core functions we are seeking a highly motivated individual with sound social work values. It is essential that you have a BA (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent; be registered with the SSSC, have experience working with those who have been involved in sexually offending and experience in multi-agency working. The post requires the ability to undertake some evening work within the 35 hours, and to attend and achieve proficiency in relevant training. Competence in undertaking Moving Forward 2 Change, and the range of relevant risk assessment tools such as SA07, RM2000 and LSCMI is desirable.

\\n

\\n

\\n

Experience of interventions with those with a range of issues such as addiction, housing, and employability issues is desirable, as is experience of writing reports to courts and the Parole Board. Experience in child and adult protection is also desirable.

\\n

\\n

\\n

As this post involves access and use of ViSOR and involvement in MAPPA cases, preferred candidates will be required to undergo the Non-Police Personnel Vetting, currently NPPV (full) level 2. Ongoing review will be required in line with agreed Home Office standards at that time.

\\n

\\n

\\n

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post. If you would like further information in relation to the Disclosure Scotland checks, please visit www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
