Working as part of a team you will be responsible for the delivery of care to older adults consistent with Social Work policies and procedures. This will involve assisting residents in all aspects of personal and social care in a way which respects their dignity as individuals and promotes their maximum independence.
You must enjoy working with older people and understand their needs; be an effective communicator, showing a professional and courteous manner to residents, relatives, carers, health professionals and other agencies; be able to work on your own initiative and be flexible and adaptable with the capacity to learn and apply new skills.
You will be fully supported by senior staff in achieving a high standard of work and given the opportunity to attend relevant training courses to develop your knowledge and skills.
Possession of an SVQ Level 2 in Social Care is desirable, while the commitment and capacity to achieve this is essential. Previous experience of working with older adults is also desirable.
You must be able to work shifts, including weekends, on a rota basis.
You are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council or achieve registration within 6 months of taking up employment.
