Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Care at Home team as a Senior Home Care Worker. This is a key frontline leadership role where you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and support across the Renfrewshire area.
As a Senior Home Care Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and supporting a team of Home Care Workers, ensuring that services are delivered in line with Health and Social Care Standards, SSSC codes of practice, and Renfrewshire HSCP policies.
- Providing day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and coaching to staff, helping them develop their skills and maintain safe, effective working practices.
- Monitoring service delivery, maintaining accurate Personal Support Plans and medication records, and ensuring the people we support receive the best possible care tailored to their individual needs and outcomes.
- Responding to unplanned situations, such as staff absences and maintaining service continuity.
- Attending service user reviews, liaising with families and professionals, and contributing to service development through regular team meetings and feedback to your Service Coordinator.
- Using handheld digital devices to manage schedules and record information in line with GDPR and service protocols.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Experience working in a care setting, including delivering personal care and supporting individuals with a range of needs.
- Knowledge of Health and Social Care and Health and Social Care Standards and issues affecting service users.
- An awareness of health and safety issues in relation to medication, moving and assistance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of supervising and supporting staff with the ability to motivate and support your team.
- Competence in the use of ICT including MS Office Packages and Council Systems.
You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date. Possession of or willingness to work towards achieving SVQ level 2 or SCQF level 5 or above is also essential. Possession of, or working towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.
