Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership is delighted to invite applications for a Senior Contracts Officer to join our Contracts and Commissioning Team. We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual committed to delivering positive outcomes for people using Social Care services in Renfrewshire.

The role involves supporting the planning and implementation of strategic commissioning of social care services. The post holder will lead a team of Contracts Officers, ensuring contractual compliance across various provider organisations. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise workload, work collaboratively, and independently.

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience in contract management and/or quality assurance
  • Experience working within a Health or Social Care setting
  • Team management skills

Reporting to the Contracts and Commissioning Service Manager, you should demonstrate the ability to maintain effective relationships with service providers and key stakeholders on behalf of the HSCP. You must possess knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

The role requires a strategic outlook, diplomacy, discretion, and comfort in handling politically and commercially sensitive information, as well as the ability to manage challenges and conflicts. You should be educated to Degree Level or equivalent and demonstrate relevant professional experience.

The role involves providing specialist advice, overseeing a risk-based contract monitoring programme, setting service specifications, and contributing to the development of quality services. Strong organisational, time management, influencing, and negotiation skills are necessary. The ability to produce reports, including committee papers, strategies, option appraisals, and briefings, is also required.

Experience with procurement processes, working with regulatory bodies, and practical experience with Health and/or Social Care systems are desirable but not essential.

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of which will depend on the duties of the role.
