The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 Β£ per year.
We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure an effective clerical support service is provided to our stakeholders and customers.
Duties for the post include:
- Providing an effective business support service, including processing manual and computerised client and service information;
- Producing and analysing reports;
- Document production including typing letters and reports;
- Processing purchase orders;
- Providing basic IT assistance;
- Instructing, allocating and checking work of employees β offering advice and guidance on a daily basis to clerical assistants within the team.
The post holder will be part of the senior Customer and Business Services team based across the cluster and will be the first point of contact for clerical assistants. Therefore, organisational skills and a flexible approach are essential, as are effective customer care and communication skills, as you will be liaising regularly with other Council staff and stakeholders.
It is essential that you have experience of working in a clerical role and carrying out a wide range of support duties, as well as working with a range of software packages including Microsoft Excel and databases. It is also essential that you have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, work to deadlines and quality standards, as well as being self-motivated and resilient when handling some challenging and vulnerable client groups.
It is desirable that you have knowledge of procurement systems (PECOS) as well as AIS and Info@Work. Previous experience of supervising staff is also desirable along with an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
