Advert Senior Clerical Officer We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure an effective clerical support service is provided to our stakeholders and customers. Duties for the post include: providing an effective financial business support service involving the handling and supervision of both Council and school fund monies; processing manual and computerised financial, pupil and personnel information; producing and analysing reports; document production, including typing letters and reports; processing purchase orders; providing basic IT assistance; and, instructing, allocating and checking work of employees, and providing advice and guidance on a regular basis. The post-holder will be the senior member of the Customer Services team based in the school, so good organisational skills are essential in addition to effective communication skills as you will be supporting the head teacher and other members of the school management team; resolving enquiries from parents and children; and liaising regularly with other Council staff. It is essential that you have experience of; working in a clerical role and carrying out a wide range of support duties, as well as working with a range of software packages including Microsoft Excel and databases. It is also essential that you have the ability to; work as part of a team and on your own initiative; work to deadlines and quality standards and have strong organisational, customer care and communication skills. It is desirable that you have experience of procurement systems (PECOS), Children’s Services systems and processes and supervising staff. An SVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent is also desirable. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
