Advert Secretary (Opposition Group) - Temporary Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Member Services Section of Finance & Resources.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in being part of our team.
We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure an effective support service to the Elected Members within the Opposition groups.
You will deal with members’ correspondence and progress enquiries on their behalf, including enquiries from members of the public; maintain diaries and arrange meetings as required; maintain filing systems; liaise with other elected members, council departments and outside agencies; and any other duties to assist members.
It is essential you have a knowledge of the political and board structure for the Council together with experience in a secretarial or similar position working extensively with Office 365 and have experience of analysing numerical data.
You should also have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
You must also be able to plan and organise your own workload, meet deadlines and use your own initiative when making decisions.
A recognised qualification in Secretarial, PA or Administration related subject is desirable as is knowledge of the role and functions of a local authority and experience in handling Council policy papers.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
