The Committee Services Section of Renfrewshire Council within Finance & Resources is looking to recruit a Senior Committee Services Officer. You will be responsible for providing a clerking service to the Council's boards and other bodies, with particular responsibility for:
- Taking the lead role in supporting local partnerships
- Oversight of arrangements for board and local partnership meetings and ensuring that their decisions are implemented
- Oversight of spending and resource allocation
- Providing support and advice to the lead officers
- Preparing reports in consultation with lead officers and community planning partners
- Developing effective working relationships with partners and progressing the work of the local partnerships
- Ensuring, in conjunction with relevant staff and partners, participation in local partnership meetings
- Assisting with elections and referenda
It is essential you have demonstrable experience of dealing with and developing services for committee administration and knowledge of legislation and procedures relating to local government. You must have effective written and oral communication skills, numerical skills and a proven organisational ability. Interpersonal skills and a commitment to community development/involvement are also essential, as well as the ability to organise your own workload and deal with elected members, officers, the public and external bodies. A flexible approach to your work and a willingness to take on new duties as required is also essential.
