Renfrewshire Council is seeking motivated and reliable Recycling & Refuse Collectors to support the delivery of high-quality waste and recycling services across the area. Working as part of a crew, you will play an essential role in providing excellent front-line services to residents, businesses and other customers.
You will collect household, commercial, industrial and bulky waste, load materials safely and handle bins, boxes, sacks, caddies and bulky items. You will support safe vehicle maneuvering and assist in recycling improvement tasks such as bin checks and tagging. You will work flexibly across routes and waste streams and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
You must have experience of dealing with the general public and business community and knowledge of manual work including labouring duties. It is essential that you have effective interpersonal skills as well as effective communication skills and be able to use your initiative and work as part of a team. You also must have a flexible approach to work.
You will be expected to work across Renfrewshire, outdoors in all weather conditions. If successful you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
