Overview
Housing Assistant (Temporary) will contribute to the delivery of local housing services including interviewing and advising customers on their housing prospects/needs; interviewing and advising customers in person, by telephone or video link regarding key tenancy matters, including termination of tenancy; and maximising income for the Council, including managing rent arrears and advising tenants on income maximisation.

Qualifications and Skills
- Experience dealing with the public in person and on the telephone.
- Experience working with figures and Microsoft Office packages.
- General knowledge of housing services; numeracy skills; and effective customer service and communication skills.
- Ability and confidence to deal with angry or upset customers.
- Willingness to use initiative, organise own workload, and work at other locations or flexibly when required.
- National Certificate in Housing (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Conditions
This post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 5 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is earlier.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check.
The level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
