Overview

Assistant Cost Manager

You will assist in providing Cost Management/Quantity Surveying services within the Housing Investment team, including preparing contract documentation, liaising with contractors, using computerised programmes to prepare bills of quantities, final accounting processing and assisting with cost initiatives on construction programmes.

Responsibilities

Assist with cost management and quantity surveying activities for housing investment projects. Prepare contract documentation, liaise with contractors, prepare bills of quantities using computerised programmes, process final accounts, and support cost initiatives on construction programmes.

Requirements

Essential: degree in quantity surveying; experience of working in a best-value construction environment on a wide range of projects; liaising with contractors and preparing contract documentation; knowledge of building contracts; estimating; quantitative analysis; construction techniques and finance.

You must be commercially aware, an effective communicator, with strong interpersonal and IT skills. You will be expected to work without supervision on complex and high-value projects.

Desirable

Experience of NEC, NSR and SBCC contracts is desirable; open book and target costing would be desirable.

Driving licence and use of own transport is desirable.
