Based at Renfrewshire House, Renfrewshire Council is looking for a Nutrition & Menu Officer to lead the creation and delivery of healthy, balanced menus across our schools and HSCP premises. This is an exciting opportunity to shape nutritious, appealing meals for children and service users, ensuring compliance with all national legislation and guidelines.

You will be responsible for developing and managing menus for pre-5 settings, primary, secondary, ASN schools, and HSCP premises including the development of specific allergen bespoke menus ensuring all recipes meet nutritional standards; Food and Drink in Schools (Scotland) Regulations 2021 using specialist software.

As Nutrition & Menu Officer you will manage allergen control and communicate clearly with catering teams, create and publish menus, allergen information, and dietary options for parents and staff and consult with head teachers, parents, NHS practitioners, and stakeholders to design menus that meet everyone\’s needs.

You will also Organise special theme days to engage pupils and promote healthy eating and be responsible for monitoring budgets, ensuring value for money and best price, and support increased meal uptake across Renfrewshire.

It is essential that you have a REHIS Elementary Food Safety Certificate and have a degree or equivalent in a catering/nutrition-based subject.

You must have experience of working within a local authority catering environment, experience in menu planning and nutritional standards and knowledge of dietary requirements, allergens, and food legislation.

Effective organisational aswell as oral and written communication skills are also essential.

You must have Flexible approach to working hours

A current driving licence is desirable
