An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join our Housing Regeneration Team in the role of More Homes Officer. Supporting our Housing Regeneration Manager, the More Homes Officer will champion, support and develop initiatives throughout Renfrewshire to bring empty private sector properties back into use, including as new supply affordable housing for rent.
This is an ideal time to join Renfrewshire Council as we continue to deliver on our ambitious £100m Regeneration and Renewal programme, in which we will replace or invest in customers’ homes and help build sustainable communities.
You will be qualified to SVQ level 3 or equivalent. You should have the ability to undertake a range of diverse tasks and achieve successful outcomes, working across a varied workload with minimum supervision, carrying out work to a high standard within set timescales while demonstrating effective report writing skills.
You will assist in the implementation, monitoring and review of the Council’s Empty Homes Strategy and assist in the delivery of outcomes within the Council’s Local Housing Strategy to promote a supply of quality affordable housing across all tenures by bringing long term empty properties back into residential use.
You must have effective interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to develop effective links with elected members, colleagues and members of the public.
The post is for two years, or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
