Renfrewshire Council’s ICT department provides support for approximately 11,000 devices and 20,000 users across both our corporate and academic environments. The ICT Systems team focuses on infrastructure and application support. As part of the ICT Systems team you will provide 3rd level ICT support, administration and development of our ICT environment.
As an ICT Systems technician you will require experience of the following areas:
- Practical experience of infrastructure and application technologies including implementation, administration and support
- Differing ICT delivery models (e.g. Administration, upgrading and testing of enterprise business applications)
- Working within an ITIL framework
You must have a professional and customer focused manner to help develop relationships with customers, colleagues and 3rd parties. You must have experience in optimising the performance of infrastructure components and business applications and experience in the development and support of a relevant ICT Service.
Currently we have funding for a 12 month, temporary post to assist in a Windows server upgrade and replacement project. You will be expected to have expertise and experience in completing the tasks required for this project, including:
- Windows server operating system installation & upgrades
- Deploying virtual servers
- Delivery and installation of replacement servers
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
