An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Licensing Assistant within Legal and Democratic Services Department.

You will process applications for licences in terms of relevant licensing legislation, including applications under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982; the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005; houses in multiple occupation under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006, and applications for landlord registration under the Antisocial Behaviour etc. (Scotland) Act 2004.

Responsibilities

  • Process applications for licences under relevant licensing legislation as listed above.
  • Maintain and manage records and produce reports; work with a range of software packages.
  • Plan workload to meet deadlines; demonstrate effective organisational, analytical and communication skills; build constructive working relationships with colleagues and customers.

Qualifications

  • Essential: experience of working in an administrative role; producing reports and familiarity with software packages.
  • Essential: ability to plan workload to meet deadlines; good organisational, analytical and communication skills; ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Desirable: SVQ 3 (or equivalent), knowledge of civic government / liquor licensing; knowledge of the online landlord registration system; experience with related software packages; previous supervisory experience.
