The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
You will ensure the wellbeing of residents by supervising, maintaining and developing the standards of care within the House; participating in direct care activities as determined by policies and procedures and ensuring the highest level of Child Care Practice and using appropriate methods and techniques of Social Work intervention to meet the needs of residents.
It is essential that you hold a SVQ 3 and HNC in Social Care or an equivalent qualification at SCQF Level 6 (SCQF) and have the potential to achieve SVQ Level 4 in Social Care. Experience of working directly with children in a residential setting, report writing, and preparing care plans; knowledge & understanding of National Care Standards, childcare practice, legislation and SSSC code of practice; effective communication skills both verbally & written; the ability to carry out restraints, deal with stressful situations, manage a client group with a range of emotions, lead and supervise a team, organise and delegate tasks, motivate others and ensure a safe and secure environment for looked after children.
A flexible approach to work is also required as you must be able to work shifts, including weekends, and be flexible when covering for other staff. You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of appointment. A driving licence and knowledge of child development is desirable.
