You will provide a consistent high-quality service in all areas allocated to you within the care home environment to ensure that the environment meets the requirements of the service specification and the expectations of clients and staff alike.

Key tasks for which you will be responsible include:

1. Carrying out tasks related to catering, cleaning, and laundry services;
2. Ensuring that the young people\’s dignity and confidentiality are maintained at all times;
3. Working within all areas of the care home environment of Children\’s Services as instructed by the Assistant Facilities Housekeeper or other appropriate manager;
4. Ensuring that all areas used by the young people and care staff are maintained to the required standard on a consistent and timely basis;
5. Providing support and assistance to young people participating in housekeeping tasks.

It is essential that you have experience working within catering, cleaning, and laundry services and possess a high awareness of current hygiene practices. You must have organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, a flexible approach, and the ability to work as part of a team and relate to children and young people.

Desirable qualifications include an SVQ (or equivalent) in Catering, SVQ (or equivalent) in Cleaning, or Elementary Food Hygiene certificate.
