Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership Care at Home Services provide care and support to vulnerable people living at home, within the community, which includes four extra care housing developments across the authority. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, flexible, and highly motivated individual to join our extra care team.
Extra care housing service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Hours of work are 20 hours per week during core business times between 06:30-22:30hrs on a 4 days on/4 days off rota system. The post may require you to work across the service.
Responsibilities include assisting service users with personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, medication management, and helping with meal preparation. You will also support service users in maintaining and developing their daily living skills to promote independence.
You will need to undertake all relevant training for the role. Candidates should have experience working in a care setting, delivering personal care, or in an informal/personal capacity. An awareness of long-term conditions and understanding of the needs of individuals requiring care services are essential. Demonstrating reliability, flexibility, teamwork, and effective communication skills (both verbal and written), including monitoring and reporting changes in service users\' needs and handling sensitive information, is required.
A calm, positive, and professional attitude is essential, along with the ability to handle unexpected events or emergencies.
Applicants must hold or be capable of achieving an SVQ Level 2 in Care or an equivalent qualification at SCQF Level 5 or above. Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is required within 6 months of employment.
