Renfrewshire Health & Social Care Partnership delivers high quality home care services to people of all ages and with different care needs. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, flexible and highly motivated individual to join our care at home overnight service. Care at Home overnight service operates 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year. Hours of work are 30 hours per week, worked from 10pm to 7am on a 4 days on/4 days off rota system.
Duties include:
- Assisting service users with all aspects of personal care including help with washing, dressing, toileting, medication, moving and assisting.
- Help with preparing meals when necessary.
- Assist service users to maintain and develop their daily living skills and improve independence.
You will require to undertake all relevant training for the post. It is essential that you have experience of working in a care setting and delivering personal care in a formal capacity; have an awareness of a range of long term conditions and have an understanding of the needs of people who require help from care services; be able to demonstrate within your application form that you are reliable and flexible with the ability to work as part of a team.
You will also be required to demonstrate that you can communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and this would include monitoring and reporting changes in the identified needs of service users including the handling of sensitive information. It is desirable that you have an awareness of health and safety issues that affect a service user in their own home.
It is essential that you have a calm, positive and professional attitude and an ability to deal with unexpected events or emergency situations. It is essential that you hold or have the capacity to achieve an SVQ Level 2 in Care or an equivalent qualification at level 5 (SCQF) or above. You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 18 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
