Renfrewshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Facilities Operative - Production Assistant who can demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to deliver a high quality, modern Soft Facilities Management/Catering service.

You will be responsible for delivering prescribed components of the catering production service within import Kitchens in schools. You will report to the Senior Facilities Operative - Production Cook within the local Export Kitchen to support in the production of compliant school meals following the food and drink in Schools (Scotland) regulations, 2021.

You will have responsibility, at site level, to support the Facilities Operatives in ensuring effective delivery of the catering service within the Import Kitchen. It is essential that you have previous catering experience in a similar environment.

You will have a flexible approach to working hours and have experience of working in a customer focused environment and be willing and enthusiastic to work as part of a team. It is essential that you have previous experience of dealing with members of the public.

You will have literacy, numeracy and IT skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues. It is essential that you are willing to work toward achieving a REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate or already possess this qualification.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and previous supervisory experience is desirable.

If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.

This post is 30 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 52 weeks per year.
