The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.
You will work as part of a team to assist, support and encourage young people who are looked after and accommodated, to achieve their highest aspirations. You will be required to build relationships with young people and assist them within specific areas such as cooking and budgeting within meal preparation.
You will promote and deliver a consistent and high quality service to young people within the care home environment in which you are employed and be an integral part of the care team. You will engage positively with young people and work with them to promote the importance of healthy eating.
You will provide opportunities to encourage young people to prepare food and liaise with care staff to ensure that young people's needs are met holistically. You will be responsible for the preparation of healthy, varied and nutritionally balanced meals for the children’s house and also the purchase of foodstuffs, accompanying young people and staff to purchase these when agreed and appropriate.
It is essential you have an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate with experience of catering within a residential environment or similar. You must have knowledge of menu planning, budget control, nutrition and health, HACCP, Health and Safety Legislation and COSHH, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of service users and colleagues, work as part of a team and work to deadlines.
You must have effective organisational and communication skills and be able to demonstrate competence in ensuring the smooth running of the house. You will participate in a rotating shift basis any five days out of seven and must be registered with SSSC or achieve registration within 6 months of appointment. It is desirable that you have an SVQ Level 2 in Food Production and Cooking.
