You will provide technical support and supervisory services within the operational environment of a busy Building Services Department. The Service wishes to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic person who will assist in achieving greater utilisation of the Services assets coupled with appropriate knowledge and experience of manpower performance in the deployment of resources.
Responsible to the Facilities Manager for the day to day management of an effective and efficient service to ensure a safe environment for all of the clients across Renfrewshire. To deliver an effective repair and maintenance service to customers through the frontline operations team and drive between work locations across Renfrewshire to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
You will manage the direct multi-trade staff, providing support and supervision, whilst ensuring that health and safety and other legislative requirements are met. The postholder will have responsibility for the achievement of a number of key performance indicators to demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the service. The postholder should be able to operate across all areas of the business if required.
You must have completed an Apprenticeship with a Building or Services trade discipline, be experienced in diagnostic inspections within properties and have the ability to undertake and complete risk assessments. You must have a knowledge of acceptable work standards and be able to populate standard reporting forms and confirm your findings.
You will be self-motivated and able to work without supervision; have effective oral and written communication skills including ICT skills. You will also have a financial understanding of Building Services function. A driving licence and the ability to work on a flexible basis are essential as is a willingness to undertake any necessary training.
It is desirable that you have experience within a housing and property improvement environment; the ability to work with a wide range of people including clients/tenants and contractors. You should be able to organise your own workload and to work to deadlines.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier. If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
